I am a Registered Nurse and a Registered Midwife.  I have been working as a midwife at National Women’s before joining the team at Maternity Matters.  As a midwife I have worked with the High Risk Team, the Community Midwifery Team and in the post natal wards.  I love my profession as a midwife and did my training after the birth of my son in 2005.  As a Registered Nurse I have had varied experience having worked at Auckland Hospital in the nuero surgical ward, in the Special Care Baby Unit and as a District Nurse.

I have started providing independent midwifery since May 2010 after having had initial midwifery experience at National Women’s Hospital.  I enjoy caring for women from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds. 

Most my spare time goes into caring for my son who I just love to spend time with.  I also enjoy sport.  I have support from my family and friends for my career as an independent midwife.  I just never know when I may be called out urgently!  I work closely with Yvonne and Heather and we provide backup cover for each other so we can have regular time off each week.
