Welcome to Maternity Matters....

We are in service to "help people out!"  We aim to offer midwifery care, which is friendly and professional.

A lot of women find it a daunting process at the beginning of their pregnancy when they are told to find a Lead Maternity Care giver. All you have to do is contact us and we will carefully explain your maternity care choices.

If you then choose a Maternity Matters midwife you will be guided through your pregnancy and birth process with a high standard of midwifery care with referrals to the appropriate specialist service as required.

Services:

  • Our service is PROFESSIONAL and FREE - paid for by the Ministry of Health (depending on residency status)
  • We cover care for women from Central to West Auckland.   Our rooms are in Henderson right beside Waitakere Hospital.
  • The Maternity Matters service has developed out of response to what women have said that they would like to see.  We are continually reshaping the care service we provide to women and their families.
  • Each midwife provides a Lead Maternity Care (LMC) service.  If your LMC is not available another midwife will be there for you.  We remain available to you 24 hours a day.  We cover each other for days off, sick leave and annual leave.
  • We offer hospital births, home births and water births.  Between us we cover birth care at Waitakere Hospital, National Women's Hospital and Birthcare.
